Peer pressure can change any part of your life; peer pressure is a part of everybody’s lives. For example, there is friends pushing you to do things like drugs, smoking or alcohol. Also there is parents wanting you to live up to their expectations. Most importantly, what college you want to go to, and what career you want to do. Well, I’m different from other people; my friends think its hard for me to be who I am. But, all you have to do is let it go; for me I don’t let anything that can distract me in my path to righteousness. If a friend was to ask me if you want to smoke, drink or do drugs, I don’t yell at them saying no, I don’t give into the temptation. I kindly say no and be on my merry way and do what I need to do. The reason I would do this so easily is because of my confidence, and my powerful relationship with God. I know doing what my friends are doing is wrong, thanks to my religion. So, I have the confidence to walk away, not caring what people think. As for what my parents expect from me my mom just wants me to be happy and love what I do in the future. But, my dad wants me to have a job that would put food on the table for my family. But, my dad doesn’t control my life, it’s me and the Big Guy. I believe my dad has no say in my future career. But, I still love him and my family. I know he is trying to make sure we have a good life. I understand that, but it’s not going to change my decision to do what I want to do. But, when it comes down to college, he just has to accept me as who I am. As for my career, I know what I want to do in my life. I’m going to be a gospel singer, actor, dancer and director. But, all for the big man; I believe he would accept it in the future. But, right now he is processing the idea of who I am and it’s getting better for me to be me. Peer pressure can be a scary thing but for me, it just makes me stronger and helps me find the real me.
Peers can affect you in many ways such as education and behavior. Peers can affect your education by persuading you to make the right and wrong choices. If you choose to associate yourself with people who are doing good their ways will rub off on you. On the other hand if you are friends with people don’t do good things they can bring you down easily. I also think that your peers can motivate and push you to do good. To me its hard to do good and easy to do bad. To conclude I think that peers can have a lot to do with your education and attitude.
